Seattle Smith Club Goes to the Symphony
Benaroya Hall, Seattle
11 AM:  Peter and the Wolf
12 noon (approx): Discussion with Carolyn Kuan

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to conduct a symphony? Smith Alumna Carolyn Kuan, conductor for the Seattle Symphony's Discover Music! series, will address Club members and their children after the performance of Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf. The performance is designed for children ages 5-12, but all ages are welcome. Carolyn's talk will take place immediately following the April 26th performance (location TBA). Since this coincides with lunchtime, be sure to bring snacks for yourself and your kids.

TechLeaders: Power and Influence

Are you exercising your full power and influence in the workplace?

This two-day workshop for entry and mid-level technical women led by renowned leadership expert Jo Miller, CEO of Women’s Leadership Coaching, will focus on extending your power and influence as a technical woman through increased organizational awareness, negotiation techniques, strategies to raise your visibility, and influence techniques to increase buy in for your ideas. Women's Leadership Coaching has based their leadership modules on the successful coaching of hundreds of women leaders worldwide.

The workshop will also include presentations by senior technical leaders who will share their experiences on developing and using organization savvy to advance in their careers, how they increased their level of influence regardless of their levels of authority and negotiation tactics they used in key situations. You will leave with practical and proven techniques to increase your influence, visibility and leadership wins while extending your network of technical women.  Attending TechLeaders will also allow you to increase your network and connection to other technical women.
